Our Story

Well Hello & Welcome!

My name is Kara, and I am the creator behind Crafty Giftables.

Creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.

From building rock gardens and miniature figurine dioramas (McDonald's toys were perfect for this—go Muppets!) to earning crafting badges in Pathfinders, I was always finding new ways to create, explore, and express myself.

Over the past 20+ years, I have worked with children, families, customer service teams, and community programs, while continuing to pursue my passion through art and crafting classes. Throughout these experiences, I have seen firsthand how crafting can bring people together, build confidence, and create lasting memories. That lifelong passion is what inspired the creation of Crafty Giftables.

Based in Calgary, Crafty Giftables offers handmade gifts, beginner-friendly DIY craft kits, and seasonal creations designed for all ages and skill levels. Whether you're looking for a unique gift, a fun family activity, or a creative way to spend an afternoon with friends, my goal is to make creativity accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful.

I believe crafting is about more than the finished project—it's about slowing down, connecting with others, trying something new, and having fun along the way. Every kit and handmade item is thoughtfully created with care and designed to bring a little extra joy into everyday moments.

My mission is simple: to inspire creativity, connection, and joy through handmade craft kits and meaningful gift-giving experiences.
